WHAT A FIND! One of my suppliers just came up with these U-Boat visor caps. Now these aren't 65 years old of course, but for that authentic look (and smell) you can add your own diesel oil and grease, let your cap sit in your dirty clothes hamper for a couple of months, then let your local garbage man run his truck over them three or four times while spilling a little of his cargo...that should do the trick. These ARE made in fine, original quality. White cotton tops are removable, cap bands are typical ribbed mohair and interiors have genuine leather sweatbands with proper original makers marks, white satin linings and sweatshields with proper original makers marks. Gold metal cap eagles, hand-made bullion wreaths, cockades and visor trims are extra nice quality. Available in European sizes 56-61 (7, 7 1/8, 7 1/4, 7 3/8, 7 1/2, 7 5/8). At these prices I can't afford to stock them, so you when you order, it will take about 3 weeks to get it to you.

These interesting qualification pins come in 3 grades, i.e. bronze, silver and gold, and are given after graduating in a special branch and serving in the qualification for some years of service. For all the different specialties, those are 1 year in specialty (bronze), 5 years in specialty (silver) and 10 years (gold) in specialty. They may be worn in addition to the submarine insignia and you are even allowed to wear two of them if you work in different branches. For example, a sub captain that I know wears a) the submarine qual pin, b) the command star, c) the weapons insignia first class (not pictured), and d) the scuba diver's pin.
